Is still the European project “a leap into the unknown”, as defined by Robert Schuman in spring 1950 ?
Victoria Martín de la Torre’s work focuses on the first years after World War II when the European Project took shape thanks primarily to Jean Monnet, Robert Schuman, Konrad Adenauer, Alcide De Gasperi and Paul-Henri Spaak. Through their eyes, the reader is guided in a journey back in time and has the chance to reflect on their astonishing political foresight and to compare their action with the nowadays situation and perspectives.
