Librebook is honoured to host Pietro Bartolo, Italian doctor and politician, member of the European Parliament since 2019. As the responsible medician for first visits to migrants who land in Lampedusa, he has examined and cared for about 250,000 refugees on the island over 25 years. His books are translated in several languages, including English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
The event will be simultanously translated and will involve multilingual readings, as well as the projection of samples of the documentary Fuocoammare with subtitles.
