Alive and kicking
Resistance is continued attention, the undaunted groundswell that secures a voice for our smothered throats. Poetry undeniably inhabits that one millimeter of air above the earth, as the Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva worded it. It is closest to our tribulations, it resists and heralds the hopes for change and harmony beyond our limitations to nurture our resilience. It embraces all our vacillating, perplexed, irritated, roaring voices, writes a chant whose beat scands our steps. Marching on the frontline, brandishing humour, meandering through our goodwill, diving into the heart of our renunciations too, resistance walks the deep ways, and lifts us back to breathe, unrelentlessly.” (P. Gouverneur)
